International Day of People with a Disability, as designated by the United Nations, is always celebrated on 3 December and is a day of celebration, inclusion and participation recognising that people with a disability actively participate in all aspects of society. The New South Wales campaign is themed Don’t DIS my ABILITY, a powerful campaign in its fifth year recognising that people with a disability are major achievers in the community, that people with a disability have the right to equality, as well as decent and accessible work and that both people with a disability and people without a disability can celebrate, by attending events and by reading Made You Look. More than 100 events will be held in November and December across NSW. Events include art exhibitions, sporting events, dance parties and sensory workshops.
