Design for all in Europe – what do Built Environment professionals need to know?

The Enabling Built Environment Program invites you to come and share a

brown bag informal discussion with Jassmien Hersenns.

 

Jasmien Herssens is an architect and currently in a ZAP-track position at

the Faculty of Architecture and arts of Hasselt University, Belgium. She

worked as an architect at Ante-architecten and Wim Goes Architectuur in

Ghent. Jasmien does research in Architecture and Inclusive Design, she

lectures design methodology, a master seminar “Designing for more” and

coaches Master students in Universal Designing. In her Phd: “Designing

Architecture for More a framework of haptic design parameters with the

expertise of people born blind”, she conducted research together with

people born blind in order to find design parameters supporting

multisensory experiences. Jasmien is research coordinator and president

of the UD living lab in Hasselt. She represents Belgium in the European

Institute for Design and Disability (EIDD-Design for All Europe).
