The Seminar, A Society for All Ages - Are We there Yet? will look at how much older people have been agents and partners in ageing policy and service delivery. Most importantly the speakers and panellists will challenge how much of this is reality and what is needed to shift the perception of older people from being patients, pensioners etc to being active agents and partners of service delivery, practices and models.
How will these service deliveries, practices and models be received by industry and professionals and what still needs to be done to create A Society for All Ages. Audience target:
"A society for all ages is one that does not caricature older persons as patients and pensioners. Instead, it sees them as both agents and beneficiaries of development. It honours traditional elders in their leadership and consultative roles in communities throughout the world." -Kofi Annan, United Nations Secretary-General, 1 October 1998
