To recommend or not to recommend: articulating the reasons.

British Journal of Occupational Therapy

Author: Abraham, B., Boyle, G., Clamp, S., Robson, C.
Type: Journal Article
Year: 1987

Abstract:

This article has been written by a team of community occupational therapists who shared a common concern about the doubt which accompanied their recommendations, especially when those recommendations were challenged. By disciplined reflection and discussion, the factors surrounding their doubt were made sense of in a systematic way. This systematic understanding was refined into a simple and easily applicable framework. This framework was successfully used to analyse decisions and to articulate those recommendations.
