Author: Kendig, H.
Type: Book Section
Year: 1993

Abstract:

This paper considers social change and policy directions primarily at a structural level, that is, the underlying social, economic, and political forces which have an impact on groups of people. The paper considers processes and influences of change concerning old age and housing careers, the built environment and related policy strategies. It illustrates issues such as financial inequalities associated with housing tenure, the benefits of good initial design of homes and neighbourhoods and ways of addressing problems of under-occupied housing and limited dwelling design.
