Are you working with a client or family who has an Intellectual Disability?

Created: 11th January 2018

If so you may be interested in a new planning guide for use by/with people with cognitive disability and complex support needs. Development of the guide was done by the Intellectual Disability Behaviour Support program at UNSW Sydney and was funded by NSW Family and Community Services.

The guide is called: “Living the life I want: a guide to planning” and is available for free download using the following link:

https://www.arts.unsw.edu.au/research/intellectual-disability-behaviour-support-program/support-planning/

There are three versions for download:

  • A full version with fold out body outlines
  • An A4 version without fold outs (easier for printing)
  • An A4 black and white version (for those who don’t wish to print in colour).

Please feel free to distribute the link to anyone you think may be interested. We would also encourage you to add the link to your website or put it into your organisation’s newsletter.

We will be interested to receive any feedback you have about the guide which is a companion piece to the earlier “Being a planner with a person with disability and complex support needs: Planning resource kit” (also available for free download from the same site).
